Savannah Trip!
Savannah, Georgia

I first started going to Savannah, Ga about 7 years ago. This artistic and charming city became an annual destination for my hubby and I.
Last year I married my best friend in the historic (and some say haunted) Marshall House, and this year we returned for our anniversary. As always Savannah is one of my favorite subjects for photography.

Huey's

After rushing to River Street and straight into Wet Willies (the always packed daiquiri bar). We strolled along the cobble stone streets sucking down our drinks and cringing when the brain freeze sets in.
Huey's has been our place to go for dinner for the past few years. This small New Orleans inspired cafe allows me to start with perfect fried green tomatoes, munch on fresh seafood for a main dish, and wind it all up with fluffy beignets.

Walking through the beautiful squares that Savannah is known for gives the inner photographer a chance to thrive.  This in itself is a reason to make the three to four hour trip.

 Colonial Park Cemetery

During this trip we were able to walk through Colonial Park Cemetery. Most of our other trips we would always walk to the cemetery just to find we were too late and the gates had been locked up for the night. This, we are told, is because Voodoo sacrifices would be found before they began to lock up the grounds.

Parts of the city have amazing colors and ethereal settings that make tourists stop in their tracks, line the sidewalks, and take a hundred plus shots of the same church steeple....yes I am guilty of this as well.

Shopping

The shopping around City Market, River Street, and a little bit of all over the city is another charm that keeps me happy and my husband standing by the dressing room holding my bag.

 Tybee Island and getting crabs

We always find time to sneak out of the city and explore Tybee Island. Most time we find ourselves enjoying the beach, but this time we spent a few hours driving around enjoying the sights and...yes you guessed it shopping.

On the way back to Savannah we make sure we stop by The Crab Shack. A-MAZING food and the drinks hit the spot as well.

March Favorites

March has been a crazy month full ups and downs! But the good news is that Spring is here, even if the weather has yet to receive the memo.
So, I have put together a list of favorites that I found through out the month and what I love about them.
After researching brands and looking into what products people are talking about I headed to Sephora. I stumbled across the Clear Days Ahead trial, which made sense to me. I could try the product out and see what I think.
The kit has a cleanser that I love! My face feels so fresh and clean after every use. The other treatment products work very well together to keep my fave from breaking out and healing current acne. After a few days I did notice my skin became very dry and flaky.....so I began to use heavy moisturizer on my face. I am going to stop using the other products for a few days to see if I can just use them when I have a breakout to battle. I will keep you posted on if this works.
The First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Eye Cream is a must! I love that I can't feel it after I put it in and I love the way it makes my eyes look. I will be looking into more products by First Aid Beauty.

Favorite # 2
Olay Fresh Effects Out of this Swirled (White Grapefruit and Green Tea & Honeysuckle and White Tea)... these smell AMAZING!!!
Ok Ok other than the great smell, these cleansers are a must. They have small beads that exfoliate away dirt and dead skin cells. This is a gentle cleaner is good if you have skin that is sensitive to harsh scrubs. I use them as my everyday cleaners.

Favorite # 3
Bath Bombs (Any kind ... I love them all)
D. All of the above. I love any bath bombs you can find! These compressed shapes of fragrant goodness make every bath fun, relaxing, and unique.  Just drop in your scent of the day and enjoy!
E.L.F Kabuki Brush
This is a great face brush. I love that I can use it for my powder foundation and I feel like the brush is big enough to cover every part of my face. This brush is also REALLY soft and I love that more. It's like a babies bottom....on ...your ... face. You know what I mean.

Favorite #5
Wet N Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain Moisturizing Lip Colour (Red-Dy or Not)
I really like the price and staying power.  I would like more accurate colors though. On my skin the color was lighter than it looked. But I really love that I can put it on in the morning and have something to take off at night.

New Skin Care Routine
I am in desperate need of a new skin care routine! Especially at my age (ripe old age of early 30's ...haha you won't get my age out of me that easily.)
So, I rushed to Sephora.... well went by after work. I asked the very helpful lady in skin care about a few brands I had seen in some of the other blogs and vlogs.  First off, may I say, the lady who helped me was amazing. There are very few poor experiences I have had at that Sephora.
Back on track, I have combination skin and I am prone to acne (thank you aunt flow). I am very picky when it comes to products, they must be filled with ingredients I can spell and have a bang on marketing department (im very visual). Well after a deep Q & A and several products later I managed to walk back to my car with the Philosophy Clear Days Ahead 30-Day Acne Trial Kit and First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Eye Cream. I am always skeptical about new products, but I was feeling adventurous that day.
I tried them out that night and I love the face cleaner (3 oz Oil-Free Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Cleanser). You wet your face and rub the cleaner in for 30+ sec. After this step my face feels fresh and clean. I have been using these items for about a week now and the combo is a fast fav!
I am also a big fan of the First Aid Eye Cream. I love that I put it on and I can't feel it, yet I know it's working because each day my eyes are my best feature!
The Philosophy kit and First Aid Eye Cream are a great combo. The 30-day trial is a great way to try out the product and see if it works for you. And the eye cream may be a gateway product for me. I have my eye (wink wink) on several other products in each line.
If any of you have tried either of these products please leave me a comment about your experience and if you have any other great product suggestions!

Stay Beautiful!

Fuse Gelnamel Review

Hello Beauties!

Today I wanted to talk about the new Fuse Gelnamel. If you haven't heard about this yet it is basically an at home one coat gel nail kit. Awesome Right?!?!?
I was browsing through YouTube when I stumbled across Blair Fowler's February Favorites video. The first favorite was the Fuse Gelnamel Starter kit, and I must say I almost ran out and bought it right then, but a Wal-Mart run that late could end with me posting to "The People of Wal-Mart".  I LOVE gel nails and anyway to make it a faster process but a cheaper one, I am all in!
So as soon as the stores opened the next day, when creepy hours were over,  I nabbed a kit and a couple of colors. I used the starter kit that night and for the sake of covering all of the bases I have waited a week to write this review to see how this all promising kit/gel holds up.

Sonic Blue-M Starter Kit
What you get:

The kit includes:
  • Super cute Fuse LED Lamp
  • a bottle of Gel Cleanser
  • Gelnamel nail color
  • Lint-free Wipes
  • Double-sided Nail Buffer
  • A wooden Manicure Stick
  • Instruction Sheet
What you do:

The process seems pretty simple:
  • Do one nail at a time
  • Push your cuticles back using the manicure stick.
  •  File your nail with the nail buffer.
  • Clean the nail using the cleaner and wipes provided.
  • Paint on a layer of chosen polish.
  • Place finger in LED light and push start button.
  • The light will run for 30 Seconds.
  • When curing is done just wipe nail again with cleanser and wipe.
  • Move on to next nail.
The Results:
Na-No Way color, Sonic Blue-M Starter Kit, Intens-So-Fly color, Elec-Tric or Treat color
Cost:

I bought the Sonic Blue-M Starter Kit ($24.98), Na-No Way color ($7.98), Intens-So-Fly color ($7.98), Elec-Tric or Treat color ($7.98) from Wal-Mart. The total cost was $48.92 without tax. I normally spend between $50 to $60 getting a one time mani & pedi. So overall I am very happy with the cost of the product.

Overall:

I was on the fence in the beginning, I really thought this was too good to be true. An inexpensive, easy and fast way to get long lasting gel nails (psh! yeah right!?!). Guess what! I'm off the fence.
For $25 (at Wal-Mart) I was able to get a kit that gave me a gel mani and pedi, that is half the cost at a nail salon.
I still had some doubts so I waited a week in order to really do my best to rough-up my nails.
Day one was spent at the barn riding, for me this is the ultimate test. If my nails could last through lips (and sometimes teeth) searching for treats, picking hooves and much more dirty talk...then the money is well spent. Most of the week was spent doing more normal daily tasks. Example: paperwork, dish washing, back scraching for very spoiled dogs and needy husband ( I love you honey!), frustrated tapping during chem study session, and nail biting while waiting for last test grade. To my skeptical surprise, the held up well.
I'm not very good at painting my nails to begin with but at the end of the allotted time my nails were still good shape.  There are a few chips on the tip of a couple, but other than that for the price I am happy with the product.

 Pros:
  •  Cost $25-$30 for kit
  • Great shine
  • Lasting (though if you try, you can chip them...go fig!)

Cons:
  • Color choices
  •  If your not careful, streaking can occur.
  • $8 polishes (i know that is about right, but I am still hopeful one day I can get cheaper quality polish)
