For the love of Photography!

We all have passions.
It could be a love of cooking, planning or simply drinking wine. Everyone has atleast one passion in their life.
That one thing that is a part of their soul and will always be there waiting under the surface.
For me this is photography.  I have always enjoyed hearing the shutter and matching the final image to the real thing. A photo is like holding on to a moment in time.
In fact the first thing I ever bought myself was a chunky Polaroid camera. Yep, the old kind. I loved that camera.
Since then I have progressed through point-and-shoots to my first DSLR, a Sony A300.

I really enjoyed the freedom the DSLR cameras gave me with my creativity. I scoured YouTube for ideas and tips. My ability began to evolve, but all of my images seemed to be lacking that spark that would make them stand out.
Just recently I sold my Sony camera and bought a Canon t5i. This is the camera I needed. The clarity is amazing! I was drawn to the LCD  screen that can rotate and be set up for filming YouTube videos. Since I bout the Canon I have found a whole new level to my photography.

My oldest niece was looking through a pile of my images one day. She asked me why I didn't sell them. Honestly, I have always been afraid to show them for fear of rejection.
So in order to get past my fear I put some of my images on Etsy.

Etsy has simply been another step in getting past my fears and putting myself, and my art, out there.
I urge you to find a way to get past a fear you have and just allow your passions to grow!

Meet Me.

by
Meet Me.

Blogging is something I have tried time and time again. With so many failed blogs, I eventually just gave up.
After moving on to different pursuits, I feel like I should try one more time.

Let me tell you a little about myself:
A. I'm am a married 30-something.
B. Nope. No kids yet. We want one, but just not yet.
C. I like to try new things. Pretty much...if I have a chance I'll try it.
D. I may be addicted to makeup and clothing. Judging by my closet..I am.
E. I love food!
F. And ballet, horses, and figure Skating.

Those are the main points.

For this blog I thought I would just start writing about the things I like/love and see where that leads.
Hope you all enjoy!

Savannah Trip!
Savannah, Georgia

I first started going to Savannah, Ga about 7 years ago. This artistic and charming city became an annual destination for my hubby and I.
Last year I married my best friend in the historic (and some say haunted) Marshall House, and this year we returned for our anniversary. As always Savannah is one of my favorite subjects for photography.

Huey's

After rushing to River Street and straight into Wet Willies (the always packed daiquiri bar). We strolled along the cobble stone streets sucking down our drinks and cringing when the brain freeze sets in.
Huey's has been our place to go for dinner for the past few years. This small New Orleans inspired cafe allows me to start with perfect fried green tomatoes, munch on fresh seafood for a main dish, and wind it all up with fluffy beignets.

Walking through the beautiful squares that Savannah is known for gives the inner photographer a chance to thrive.  This in itself is a reason to make the three to four hour trip.

 Colonial Park Cemetery

During this trip we were able to walk through Colonial Park Cemetery. Most of our other trips we would always walk to the cemetery just to find we were too late and the gates had been locked up for the night. This, we are told, is because Voodoo sacrifices would be found before they began to lock up the grounds.

Parts of the city have amazing colors and ethereal settings that make tourists stop in their tracks, line the sidewalks, and take a hundred plus shots of the same church steeple....yes I am guilty of this as well.

Shopping

The shopping around City Market, River Street, and a little bit of all over the city is another charm that keeps me happy and my husband standing by the dressing room holding my bag.

 Tybee Island and getting crabs

We always find time to sneak out of the city and explore Tybee Island. Most time we find ourselves enjoying the beach, but this time we spent a few hours driving around enjoying the sights and...yes you guessed it shopping.

On the way back to Savannah we make sure we stop by The Crab Shack. A-MAZING food and the drinks hit the spot as well.
